Operational Duties

1. 1. Provides In-Patient and Out-Patient consultations for disorders of the human glandular and hormonal systems.
   2. Examines patients for signs and symptoms of hormone imbalance, disorders or diseases such as osteoporosis, diabetes or thyroid malfunction.
   3. Recommends or orders diagnostic tests to better understand a patient's condition, interprets results and determines diagnosis.
   4. Prepares and reviews case histories and clinical records, examines patients and plans treatment/ medical management options.
   5. Conducts assessment of blood sugar level and insulin within a patient's body to diagnose diabetes.
   6. Explains the condition to a patient, once the abnormalities / illnesses is detected, prescribes treatment and conducts follow-up.
   7. Counsels patients on subjects such as diet, hygiene and other areas of preventative maintenance for problems such as hypertension and cholesterol levels.
   8. Administers and prescribes conservative measures of treatment as drugs, insulin and antibiotics.
   9. Monitors patients' condition and progress, and re-evaluates treatment as necessary.
   10. Receives referrals and consultations from other disciplines for metabolic diseases, all kinds of Endocrine and related complications

5. Provides therapies such as intralesional steroids and chemical peels to treat age spots, sun damage, rough skin, discolored skin, or oily skin.

7. Recommends diagnostic tests based on patients' history and physical examination findings.

16. Deals with birth injuries and any post-operative complications.
17. Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care; administers sedatives, prescribes diets, and prepares operative area of patients.
18. Monitors patients' condition and progress, and re-evaluates treatment as necessary.
19. Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patients and families.
20. Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.

Audiologist responsibilities usually include the following:

• Examine patients with ear, hearing or balance and other related problems.
• Assess exam results and diagnose the patient.
• Determine the best course of treatment, taking the patient’s needs and concerns into consideration.
• Fit and dispense hearing aids.
• Provide counseling for the patient and close family members on how to best listen and communicate using methods such as lip reading or technology.
• Evaluate and follow up on the patient’s condition and record any developments.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintains housekeeping schedules; conduct comprehensive inspections to check the completion of work assignments.
2. Supervises housekeeping services including cleaning, mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing, etc., in stairways, hallways, offices, labs and, other departments and areas of the hospital.
3. Ensures that assignments are appropriately staffed and that employees have adequate supplies and equipment for completion of assignments.
4. Discusses general housekeeping procedures with personnel of the assigned area; recommends changes in procedures.

7. Defines and controls the Pricing of Services/ Package, advises the Finance Manager & CFO on various Pricing Strategies.
8. Conducts Project Feasibility studies with the objective of investing the Group resources profitably; identifies new investment opportunities, conducts Project appraisals & analysis.
9. Prepares Strategic Budgets for the Hospital, Budget negotiation, approval, communication, implementation & initiates extensive Budgetary Control through the system.
10. Supports Finance Manager in preparation of business plan, budget & reviews.

Management Reports

1. Compiles statistical, financial, accounts/ audit reports and tables pertaining to matters such as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits & losses
2. Prepares Profitability Analysis, Statistical Analysis, Capacity Utilization Analysis etc., and conducts various Ratio Analysis to analyze and appraise Hospital performance.

Financial System Application

1. Familiarizes with the product functionality.
2. Plans, schedules and oversees major software upgrades, new releases, and installation of related software applications.
3. Develops documentation and training for end users on how to effectively use financial management system features and related applications.
4. Access control of various users review and management

Liaising

1. Liaisons with the Banks to deal with banking issues.
2. Keeps track of the new services provided by the bank and maintains Internet banking accounts.
3. Liaisons with other function managers to put the finance view in context.
4. Handles Financial Liaisons with related parties & performs monthly Inter Company Current Account Reconciliations

Other Duties

1. Manages Employee Incentive computation and processes payment. Participates in New Incentive scheme implementation.

Operating Room

1. Supervises, coordinates and improves the OR booking process at NMH
2. Builds a good rapport with Anesthetists, Surgeons, Nurses and other professionals to ensure that improvements are accepted and implemented.
3. Plan and works towards improving the OR utilization & Revenue by 20% a year.
4. Monitors OR, procedures / activities and verifies/ reconciles respective billing information in the system.
5. Ensures that, all the consumables and implants used in the OR procedures are charged accurately on time.
6. Ensures that, all insurance approvals are coordinated and obtained for the elective and emergency admissions.
7. Ensures that, all the OR Billing is verified and audited along with the medical records prior to the patient discharge.

9. Verifies billing information by reviewing patient medical records; checks for completeness.
10. Conducts hospital billing audits to ensure compliance to established policies and procedures.
11. Resolves disputed claims by gathering, verifying, and providing additional information; follows-up on claims.
12. Resolves discrepancies in billing tasks by examining and evaluating data; implements corrective steps under the guidance of finance department and inpatient customer service department.
13. Ensures preparation of monthly reports as directed.
14. Maintains work operations and quality results by following standards, policies & procedures and reporting compliance issues.
15. Ensure confidentiality on the patient information and financials.
16. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities with regards to medical coding and billing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Bachelors’ Degree in Hospital Management/ Nursing / Pharmacy. Post Graduate Degree in Hospital Management is preferred

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years’ experience working in Billing Systems in a leading Multi-Specialty Hospital within the OR and also operational experience of working and managing other areas in the hospital.

Direct involvement with all telecommunication apparatus and computers. May involve long periods of sitting; telephone and in front of a computer screen. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours and working in stressful circumstances with coordinating departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Properly process and audit all type of claims received by the payers, from the medical and insurance perspective
2. Assure meeting the daily assigned target in terms of quantity & quality
3. Report back any type of claims observation or issues that may affect the process
4. Ensure that the medical ethics are respected at all times while performing the medical evaluation of the claims
5. Participate in developing the billing system by providing new ideas or proposal in order to enhance the process
6. Contribute in developing, updating and implementing the guidelines for evaluation and processing of medical claims, as well as policies and procedures and work instructions related to medical claims review and processing
7. Gather relevant information to clearly describe and properly escalate issues to insurance manager
8. Ensure high quality customer service and respect medical and work ethics at all times while conducting daily tasks.
9. Ensure that business decisions and processes are documented in a professional way and the communication requirements are being adhered to in a timely and professional manner
10. Conduct training to improve the technical, insurance and medical skills and knowledge for team members as assigned by insurance manager
11. Provide all the needed support as advised by insurance manager based on the business need
12. Other related tasks assigned by the line manager
