New Mowasat Hospital Anesthesiology Department is dedicated to ensure the provision of high quality, safe and comprehensive anesthesia, critical care and pain alleviation services to patients undergoing surgery, women in labour and compromised and critically injured patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
To ensure consistency in the delivery of anesthesia services, the department provides Consultant Coverage and Female Service Coverage 24-hours a day, 7 days a week anesthesia and ICU service for inpatients and outpatients, including pre-operative care for elective and emergency patients and acute pain management services including epidural analgesia of labor.
The Anesthesiology Department is extensively involved with the pre-admission service Anesthesia Clinic and all aspects of patient care to provide optimum health outcomes for patients undergoing surgery and to manage additional patients being operated on by visiting surgeons.
Anesthesiology Department services are provided to a monthly average of 600 surgeries in all age groups requiring a range of surgical procedures. To ensure the work performed is accurate and of high quality, policies and procedures that comply with the JCI and ACI standards, clinical audit and medical informatics are implemented.
